Stake-winning Duo in Golden State Juvenile

DEL MAR, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2017) – Stakes winners Smokem and Bookies Luck are entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Golden State Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-olds at Del Mar.

Smokem is by Union Rags, out of the Smoke Glacken mare One Smokin’ Lady, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Bada Beng Racing, Flores or Lovingier and is trained by Gary Sherlock. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $92,500 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 23 Barretts Juvenile.

Night At the Opera is by Indian Evening, out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Talented, was bred by owner KMN Racing and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $33,600 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 30 Oak Tree Juvenile.

Campaigner is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Good Journey mare Brave Journey, was bred by owner Larry Stein and is trained by Steve Miyadi. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $43,800 and is coming off an Oct. 14 maiden win.

Lucky Pegasus is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Princess Pegasus, was bred by Donald Valpredo, is owned by Tricar Stables and trained by Sal Gonzalez. He has one win in seven starts, earnings of $29,575 and is coming off a Sept. 21 maiden claiming win.
