ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2014) – Grade I winner Tamarando and fellow California-bred Frensham take on Shared Belief in Friday’s $300,000 Grade I Malibu Stakes for 3-year-olds at Santa Anita.
Tamarando is by Bertrando, out of the Dehere mare Tamarack Bay, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $665,370 and is coming off a seventh in the Nov. 29 Native Diver.
Frensham is by Square Eddie, out of the Formal Gold mare Farnham, was bred by J. Paul Reddam, is owned by Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has two wins in 12 starts, earnings of $119,628 and is coming off a third in a Nov. 9 optional claimer.
