Thorn Song Gets First Winner

COALINGA, Calif. (Mar. 28, 2015) — The late Harris Farms stallion Thorn Song, a multiple Grade I winner, was represented by his first winner when Dream Serenade won the second race at Los Alamitos Saturday night.

Dream Serenade, a filly out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Kalookan Dream, was bred by her owner Jon P. Denson and graduated in her fifth lifetime start.

Bred in Kentucky by Pinnacle Racing LLC and Taylor Made Farm Inc., Thorn Song won eight of 29 starts including the Shadwell Turf Mile S.-G1 and the Shoemaker Mile S.-G1, and earned $1,132,700. Racing for Zayat Stables from 2005-2009, the big gray was trained by Dale Romans and Mike Mitchell. He sired four crops (including foals of 2015) while standing at Harris Farms.
