DEL MAR, Calif. (July 7, 2015) – Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, Barretts Sales and Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC) will host “Buying a Racehorse,” a FREE New Owner Seminar and Preview of the Paddock Sale at Del Mar on Saturday, July 25, 2015. The seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Veranda Café and conclude at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Seminar panelists include bloodstock agent Rollin Baugh, trainer Phil D’Amato, Billy Koch of Little Red Feather Racing, and international auctioneer Ryan Mahan. They will discuss acquiring horses at auction and through private sales, claiming horses, and joining racehorse partnerships and syndicates.
The seminar will also include a barn tour, where attendees can ask questions of leading California trainers and get a close-up look at horses in training. Participants will also get a preview of the horses entered in that evening’s Paddock Sale.
Several representatives of racing syndicates will be on hand to provide informational materials for those interested in getting into a racing partnership or syndicate. Any partnerships or syndicates interested in participating should call Mary Forney at (626) 574-6617.
