Tribal Gal Repeats in Oak Tree Distaff

PLEASANTON, Calif. (June 27, 2015) – Odds-on favorite Tribal Gal successfully defended her title by winning Saturday’s $100,000 Oak Tree Distaff for Golden State Series eligible fillies and mares at Oak Tree at Pleasanton.

Tribal Gal is an Arizona-bred by California stallion Tribal Rule, out of the Western Fame mare Famous Gal, was bred by owner John Pendergast and is trained by R. Kory Owens.

She has 10 wins in 27 starts, earnings of $440,801 and was coming off a third in the May 23 Spring Fever Stakes. She won this race a year ago.

Tribal Gal ran the six furlongs in 1:10.19 and won by 2 ¼ lengths at odds of 1-5. Princess Bertrando was second and Frisco Fog third in the field of five.
