INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2010) – The deadline to file or withdraw early-bird nominations to this year’s $100,000 California Cup Distaff has been extended until Tuesday, Sept. 14, because of a change in the distance of the race.
With the race for fillies and mares being held this year at Hollywood Park, it will be run at six furlongs on the turf, instead of about 6 ½ furlongs on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita.
Connections wishing to withdraw a previously filed nomination have until the Tuesday deadline to receive a refund of the $100 fee. Connections wishing to add a nomination also have until the Tuesday deadline to add horses.
Early-bird nominations for the other six Cal Cup races are unaffected by the change in venue.
Regular nominations close October 16 for the $820,000 Cal Cup XXI, to be held Saturday, Oct. 30.
