DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2013) – U’narack ran down Ambitious Brew in the final sixteenth to win Friday’s $200,000 Real Good Deal Stakes for 3-year-olds eligible to the Golden State Series at Del Mar.

U’narack is by Unusual Heat, out of the Dehere mare Tamarack Bay, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer.

He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $194,080 and was coming off a win in a June 28 optional claimer. U’narack ran the seven furlongs in 1:22.23 and won by a half length at odds of 5-1.

“He ran a real nice race because he was able to find a seam and get out so he wasn’t stuck down inside. It was a really good race for him. We haven’t thought of a next race for him yet. We pointed for this race for Cal-breds for $200,000. We’ll just look at things and make up our minds on the next one.”-Jerry Hollendorfer.

“I’ve worked him now the last two or three times and he’s been feeling good. Jerry (Hollendorfer, trainer) told me to not be too far off the pace. He said if he makes the lead, that’s fine. It worked out well. We had a perfect trip and he quickened very well at the finish.”-Julien R. Leparoux.

Ambitious Brew was second and Raised a Secret was third in the field of eight.
