Unusual Heat Progeny Dreamin’

DEL MAR, Calif. (July 23, 2014) – Soi Phet continued his entry-fest by adding his name to a list that includes five sons of Unusual Heat in Sunday’s $150,000 California Dreamin’ Handicap for Golden State Series eligibles at Del Mar.

Soi Phet is by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Gerald Benowitz and Sandra Powell and Mathilde and Paul Viskovich and trained by Leonard Powell. He has seven wins in 27 starts, earnings of $352,436 and is coming off a win in the July 3 Bertrando Stakes at Los Alamitos. He’s also entered in Friday’s Cougar II Stakes and Saturday’s San Diego Handicap.

Rock Me Baby is by Rock Hard Ten, out of the Tale of the Cat mare Barbara Orr, was bred by Mercedes Stable, is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and trained by Craig Dollase. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $276,302 and is coming off a third in the July 3 Bertrando Stakes. He was second in this race last year.

Heat Flash is by Unusual Heat, out of the Show Dancer mare Ballistic Lady, was bred by Madeline Auerbach and Barry Abrams, is owned by Auerbach, Little Red Feather Racing and Abrams and is trained by Abrams. He has two wins in 17 starts, earnings of $144,096 and is coming off a fourth in a July 20 optional claimer.
