SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 11, 2012) – California-bred Unusual Way toyed with the competition while coasting to an 11-length win in Saturday’s $75,300 Wine Country Debutante Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Santa Rosa.
Unusual Way is by Unusual Heat, out of the Great Above mare Way Up, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Edward Brown Jr. and Philip Lebherz and trained by Jeff Bonde.
She has two wins in four starts, earnings of $85,605 and was coming off an eighth in the July 14 Landaluce. She ran the six furlongs in 1:11.58 at odds of 2-1.
