Qianoa Enters Betty Grable

DEL MAR, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2014) – Four multiple stakes winners, led by top earner Qianoa, are among those entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Betty Grable Stakes for Golden State Series eligible fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Meinertzhageni is by Stormin Fever, out of the Peaks and Valleys mare Hot Desert, was bred by Robert Harmon, is owned by Jeff Bonde, Miguel Carranza, Stephen McGovern and Mersad Metanovic and is trained by Bonde. She has three wins in 10 starts, earnings of $180,370 and is coming off a seventh in the Sept. 27 Unzip Me.

More Complexity is by Square Eddie, out of the Yonaguska mare Marquis Diamond, was bred by J. Paul Reddam, is owned by Reddam Racing and trained by Edward Freeman. She has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $157,970 and is coming off a Sept. 26 allowance win.

Multiple stakes winner Qianoa is by Wilko, out of the Skywalker mare Starlet Sky, was bred by B&B Zietz Stables, is owned by Curt and Lila Lanning and is trained by Ed Moger Jr. She has four wins in 21 starts, earnings of $487,209 and is coming off an eighth in the Oct. 12 California Distaff.

Warren’s Veneda is by Affirmative, out of the Flying Continental mare More Cal Bread, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and is trained by Craig Lewis. She has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $355,012 and is coming off a sixth in the Oct. 11 California Distaff. She is also entered in Friday’s Katherine Crosby.

Multiple stakes winner Swiss Lake Yodeler is by Swiss Yodeler, out of the Meadowlake mare Domasco Lake, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. She has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $276,350 and is making her first start since a third in the Apr. 26 Melair.

Stakes winner Sweet Marini is by Marino Marini, out of the In Excess mare Excessing, was bred by BMWZ Stables, is owned by Kaleem Shah and trained by Bob Baffert. She has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $277,538 and is coming off a fifth in an Oct. 5 optional claimer.

Sudden Sunday is by Bertrando, out of the General Meeting mare Sunday Dress, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Steven Miyadi. She has four wins in 19 starts, earnings of $159,875 and is coming off a third in an Oct. 13 optional claimer.
