20 Nominations for King Glorious

CYPRESS, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2020) —Good With People, winner of the Golden State Juvenile Nov. 7 at Del Mar, is among 20 2-year-olds nominated to the $100,000 King Glorious Stakes at Los Alamitos.

A one-mile race restricted to horses bred or sired in California, the King Glorious will be run for the ninth time Sunday, Dec. 20, the final day of the Los Angeles County Fair Winter meet.

Owned by breeders Kirk and Judy Robison and trained by Peter Miller, Good With People earned his third win in five starts in the Juvenile, leading throughout and prevailing by three-quarters of a length.

A son of Curlin to Mischief and the Roar of the Tiger mare Gator Power, he’s earned $199,000. If Good With People competes in the King Glorious, it will be his first start beyond seven furlongs.

The Robisons and Miller also nominated None Above the Law, a Karakontie gelding who won at first asking during the Summer Meet at Los Alamitos.

Other nominees include Positivity and Ascot Storm, the 2-3 finishers in the Golden State Juvenile.

Trained by Paddy Gallagher for a partnership that includes former California Horse Racing Board chairman Chuck Winner, Positivity, a Paynter colt, has won two of three and earned $115,500.

Ascot Storm, who is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and trained by John Sadler, is a gelded son of Shackleford who broke his maiden by 4 ¾ lengths in his Santa Anita debut Oct. 4 when conditioned by Hector Palma. He’s banked $51,000 in two races.

The other nominees are Big Story, Governor’s Party, Mischievous Path, Mister Bold, Moving Fast, One Last Time, Bobby’s Alibi, Alpine Thunder, Pappy Boyington, From the Get Go, Tacoflavoredkisses, Wedding Groom, Hard Metal, Play Chicken, Big Flint and Club Cal.

Entries for the King Glorious will be taken Thursday, Dec. 17.
