INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 27, 2013) – Celebrity Status took over at the head of the stretch and drew off to win Saturday’s $60,000 NTRA Stakes for California-bred maiden colts and geldings on the Gold Rush XIV card at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Celebrity Status is by Vronsky, out of the Something Lucky mare A Lucky Happening, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Johnston, Johnston & Cherry Hawk Stables, is trained by Donald Warren and was ridden by Tyler Baze.
He has one win in four starts, earnings of $50,810 and was coming off a second in a Mar. 13 maiden special weight race. He is a half-brother to multiple stakes winner Allswellthatnswell.
Celebrity Status ran the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:16.86 and won by five lengths at odds of 5-2. Longshot Saint Leo was second and Meydan Magic third in the field of eight.
