- INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Apr. 27, 2013) – Odds-on favorite Hail Mary ran off to an easy win in Saturday’s $70,000 Warrens Thoroughbreds Stakes for California-bred fillies and mares, the opener of the Gold Rush XIV card at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Hail Mary is by Old Topper, out of the General Meeting mare Lady Sax, was bred by owner Nick Alexander, was trained by Mike Mitchell and ridden by Julien Leparoux. She ran the seven furlongs in 1:22.67 and won by 9 ¾ lengths at odds of 2-5.
Hail Mary has two wins in four starts, earnings of $120,560 and was coming off a second in the Mar. 30 Evening Jewel. Swiss Bliss was second and Wild in the Saddle third in the field of seven.
