Layoffs Key in Crystal Water

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 5, 2014) – John Scott makes his first start since winning this race last year, and Ethnic Dance makes his first start since winning last year’s Del Mar Derby, in Sunday’s $100,000 Crystal Water Stakes for Golden State Series eligibles at Santa Anita.

Rousing Sermon is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Awesome Again mare Rousing Again, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has five wins in 27 starts, earnings of $735,092 and is coming off a second in the Apr. 26 Tiznow Stakes.

Jules Journey is a Kentucky-bred by Good Journey, who was standing in California, out of the Flag Down mare Flag Down the Mint, was bred by Sean & Barbara Speck, is owned by James Cassidy and Mary DeLahut and is trained by Cassidy. He has three wins in 17 starts, earnings of $197,490 and is coming off a second in a May 10 optional claimer. He was third in this race last year.
