SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 5, 2015) – Stakes winner El Huerfano and fellow California-bred Extant are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Robert Dupret Derby for 3-year-olds at Santa Rosa.
El Huerfano is by Tannersmyman, out of the Capsized mare Adriftinthebay, was bred by owner M.A. Douzos and trained by Gil Matos. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $66,686 and is coming off a win in the July 18 Golden Bear Stakes.
Extant is by Benchmark, out of the French Envoy mare Double Dip, was bred by owner Jeff Siegel and is trained by Jedd Josephson. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $72,010 and is coming off an 11th in the July 16 Oceanside Stakes.
