Cal-bred Quartet in Daytona

ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2015) – Multiple graded winner Alert Bay is one of four California-breds entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Grade III Daytona Stakes at Santa Anita.

Multiple stakes winner Richard’s Boy is by Idiot Proof, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Marissa’s Joy, was bred by Harold and Pamela Tillema, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and is trained by Peter Miller. He has six wins in 10 starts, earnings of $307,260 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 12 optional claimer.

Grade II winner Big Bang Theory is by Artie Schiller, out of the Alysheba mare Shebane, was bred by owners Scott Gross  & Mark Devereaux and is trained by Carla Gaines. He has four wins in 19 starts, earnings of $390,844 and is coming off a sixth in the Nov. 27 Seabiscuit Handicap.

Multiple graded winner Alert Bay is by City Zip, out of the Dushyantor mare Hickory, was bred by Thomas Bell and Ross McLeod, is owned by Peter Redekop and is trained by Blaine Wright. He has 11 wins in 21 starts, earnings of $980,485 and is coming off a seventh in the Nov. 27 Seabiscuit.

Somethings Unusual is by Vronsky, out of the Unusual Heat mare Unusual Prospect, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Bruce Treitman and trained by Michael McCarthy. He has three wins in 26 starts, earnings of $258,754 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 28 optional claimer.
