ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2021) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Camino Del Paraiso attempts to defend his title in Sunday’s $50,000 Joseph T. Grace Stakes at Golden Gate.
Union Dance is by Unionize, out of the Street Sense mare Night Dance, was bred by Timothy O’Leary, is owned by John Molloy and trained by Isidro Tamayo. He has five wins in 21 starts, earnings of $132,452 and is coming off a seventh in the Oct. 17 Bull Dog.
Camino Del Paraiso is by Suances, out of the Successful Appeal mare Loni’s Appeal, was bred by Red Baron’s Barn, is owned by Paradise Road Ranch and trained by O. J. Juaregui. The $5,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has eight wins in 43 starts, earnings of $519,942 and is coming off an 11th in the Oct. 2 John Henry Turf Championship. He won this race last year and was second in 2017 and 2019.
Loafers Boy is by Coil, out of the Theatrical mare All Star Cast, was bred by owners George & Martha Schwary Racing and is trained by Leanna Ekstrom. He has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $61,231 and is coming off a fourth in a Sept. 26 allowance.
Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Big Fish is by Mr. Big, out of the Into Mischief Heat mare Perched, was bred by George Krikorian, is owned by Legacy Ranch and trained by David Hofmans. The $45,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has three wins in 10 starts, earnings of $231,018 and is coming off a sixth in an Oct. 10 optional claimer.
Chief Jackson is by Dads Caps, out of the Unusual Heat mare Sea of Red, was bred by owner Richard Barton Enterprises and is trained by D. Wayne Baker. He has two wins in 10 starts, earnings of $53,200 and is coming off an Oct. 23 starter’s allowance win.
Wine and Whiskey is by Fullbridled, out of the Tabasco Cat mare Satin Dolly, was bred by Francisco Gomez, is owned by Ruben Arechiga and trained by Felix Rondan. He has four wins in 24 starts, earnings of $152,834 and is coming off a back-to-back optional claiming wins.
