Give Me the Lute is by Boisterous, out of the Midnight Lute mare Steal the Lute, was bred by Gary Barber, is owned by Roderick Hogan and Wendy Hogan and is trained by Andy Mathis. He has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $209,823 and is coming off a sixth in the Oct. 17 California Flag.
Midnight Special is by Vronsky, out of the Yes It’s True mare Lost Prophet, was bred by Donald Muldoon, is owned by Jeffrey Lambert and trained by R.B. Hess Jr. He has six wins in 26 starts, earnings of $178,542 and is coming off a fourth in a Nov. 26 optional claimer.

The $4,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has seven wins in 38 starts, earnings of $248,184 and is coming off a third in the Nov. 5 Hank Mills Sr. Stakes.
