NISKU, Alberta (Aug. 21, 2024) – California-breds J Dutton and Shining Tiger are entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade III Canadian Derby at Century Mile.
J Dutton is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Pleasantly Perfect mare Cat Five’ O, was bred by PT Syndicate #1, is owned by Christoff, Gordon and Giesbrecht, Lance B. and trained by Robert Anderson. He has one win in eight starts, earnings of $70,734 and is coming off a fourth in the Aug. 5 BC Cup Sir Winston Churchill Derby Trial.
Shining Tiger is by Smiling Tiger, out of the southern Halo mare Brooke’s Halo, was bred by PT Syndicate # 1, is owned by Mohammad Kahn and trained by James Brown. He has two wins in 11 starts, earnings of $31,686 and is coming off a win in the July 28 Grande Prairie Derby.
