PLEASANTON, Calif. (Nov. 30, 2024) – Duly Noted held off odds-on favorite Grand Slam Smile for her first stakes win, and preserved her unbeaten record through four starts, in Saturday’s $76,350 Livermore Valley Stakes for Golden State Series-eligible fillies and mares at Pleasanton.
Duly Noted, ridden by Luis Jiminez, had to overcome a rough trip, closing closed from sixth on the backstretch to reach the front in the final sixteenth and won by 1 1/2 lengths over Grand Slam Smile, who raced wide throughout. Chancery Way, who was part of an early speed duel with Smiling Molly, held third, beaten two lengths.

Duly Noted ran six furlongs in 1:10.24.
Irish Wahine finished fourth, followed by Blue Wildcat, Smiling Molly, Rousing Jewel, and Smiling Lady.
Duly Noted is by Grazen, out of the Harbor the Gold mare Fragrant Harbor, was bred by Charlie Dunn, Al Hodge & Ray McCanna, is owned by Dunn Bar Ranch LLC, Hodge, Al, MacLennan, Anne and McCanna, Tim, and trained by Tim McCanna.
Chancery Way and Smiling Molly fought through an early pace of 22.46 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 44.67 for a half-mile.
Duly Noted won a maiden race at Golden Gate Fields in her debut last December, but did not race again until October when she won an allowance race at Fresno. In her final start before the Livermore Valley Stakes, Duly Noted won an allowance race at six furlongs at Pleasanton.
In each of her wins, Duly Noted has closed from well off the pace. She has earned $104,670 in her four starts.
