Accidental Genius Enters Canadian Derby

EDMONTON, Alberta (Aug. 19, 2025) – Accidental Genius is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade III Canadian Derby for 3-year-olds at Century Mile.

Accidental Genius is by I’ll Have Another, out of the Square Eddie mare Radish, was bred by Reddam Racing, is owned by Stetson Enterprises, Ltd., Stetsco, Inc., CJ Stetson Ltd and GSR and trained by Tim Rycroft.

He has two wins in 12 starts, earnings of $81,253 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 4 BC Cup Sir Winston Churchill Derby Trial Handicap.
