ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2025) – Multiple stakes winner Speedy Wilson and fellow California-bred Berlin Wall oppose five Bob Baffert-trained heavyweights in Sunday’s $300,000 Grade I Malibu Stakes at Santa Anita.
Speedy Wilson is by Tough Sunday, out of the Ministers Wild Cat mare Queenofhercastle, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $294,488 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 29 optional claimer.
Berlin Wall is by Practical Joke, out of the Uncle Mo mare Caymanbird, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Thomsen Racing LLC and Halasz, Thomas E. and trained by Steve Knapp. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $107,860 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 16 optional claimer.
