ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 21, 2016) – Six talented California-breds, including multiple stakes winners Acceptance and Bettys Bambino, are entered in Monday’s $100,000 Grade III San Simeon Stakes at Santa Anita.
Jimmy Bouncer is by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has six wins in 10 starts, earnings of $320,990 and is coming off a Nov. 18 optional claiming win after taking the Harris Farms Stakes.
Multiple stakes winner Acceptance is by Vronsky, out of the Perfect Mandate mare Allswellthatnswell, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Finish Line Racing or the Ellwood Johnston Trust and is trained by Kenny Black. He has four wins in 12 starts, earnings of $378,803 and is coming off a third in the Nov. 20 Cary Grant.
Richard’s Boy is by Idiot Proof, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Marissa’s Joy, was bred by Harold and Pamela Tillema, is owned by Rockingham Ranch and trained by Peter Miller. He has seven wins in 17 starts, earnings of $434,080 and is coming off a Nov. 26 optional claiming win.
He Will is by Cyclotron, out of the Lear Fan mare Could She, was bred by Old English Rancho and Berumen, is owned by Randall, Schlaich or Team Green, et al, and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has five wins in 10 starts, earnings of $186,515 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins.
Tough Sunday is by Grazen, out of the General Meeting mare Sunday Dress, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and trained by Steve Miyadi. He has three wins in 13 starts, earnings of $180,938 and is coming off a Sept. 24 optional claiming win.
Multiple stakes winner Bettys Bambino is by Unusual Heat, out of the High Brite mare Brite Betty, was bred by owners Alesia, Ciaglia and Mellen and is trained by Peter Eurton. He has six wins in 10 starts, earnings of $318,036 and is making his first start since Feb. 21, 2015 when he scored in the Sensational Star for his fourth consecutive win.
