ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 30, 2021) – Multiple graded stakes winner Acclimate and Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Camino Del Paraiso are California-breds entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Grade II John Henry Turf Championship Stakes at Santa Anita.
Camino Del Paraiso is by Suances, out of the Successful Appeal mare Loni’s Appeal, was bred by Red Baron’s Barn, is owned by Paradise Road Ranch and is trained by O.J. Jauregui. The $5,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has eight wins in 42 starts, earnings of $519,442 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 6 Rolling Green.
Acclimate is by Acclamation, out of the Boundary mare Know No Bounds, was bred by Old English Rancho, Sal Berumen & Patsy Berumen, is owned by The Ellwood Johnston Trust, Timmy Time Racing and Ken Tevelde and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has seven wins in 26 starts, earnings of $593,872 and is coming off a third in the Aug. 21 Del Mar Handicap. He was second in this race in 2019.
