ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2014) – Stakes winner Ambitious Brew and the appropriately named fellow California-bred Eddie’s First are entered in Friday’s $100,000 Grade III Eddie D. Stakes at Santa Anita.
Eddie’s First is by Square Eddie, out of the Boston Harbor mare Teresa Ann, was bred by J. Paul Reddam, is owned by Reddam Racing and trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in eight starts, earnings of $62,800 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 5 E.B. Johnston.
Ambitious Brew is by Tizbud, out of the Forest Wildcat mare Kathwen, was bred by owner Pamela Ziebarth and is trained by Martin Jones. He has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $227,920 and is making his first start since winning the Feb. 22 Sensational Star.
