From Ballena Vista Farm
RAMONA, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2015) — Ballena Vista Farm has released its stallion roster and fees for 2016, with a pre-season special fee for Bluegrass Cat.
Along with the 2015 leading California sire Bluegrass Cat, the California farm will stand three other stallions ranging in fee from $1,500 to $3,500.
“Ballena Vista Farm offers breeders both proven leading sires and outstanding prospects priced at value to the breeder,” farm manager Manuel Ochoa said. “We are excited to offer this complete roster and welcome breeders to statistically and physically examine our stallions. We feel they will be impressed.”
“Dixie Chatter, at his new 2016 fee and having a Santa Anita $100,000 stakes winner on October 12th, gives the West Coast breeder a proven stallion both in the marketplace and on the racetrack for a very reasonable fee.
“Our stakes winning Calimonco will have his first crop to the races in 2016 and based on his yearlings that passed through the sales ring; we expect some precocious runners. Eddington continues to sire runners; recently retired to stud in Kentucky 2015 G1 winner Secret Circle and 2015 stakes winners Joya Real and Eddy Gourmet.
“With Bluegrass Cat’s 2016 special pre-season fee he represents a ‘best value’ for the upcoming 2016 season. Bluegrass Cat currently ranks above Arch, Elusive Quality, Broken Vow and Mineshaft all nationally ranked top 45 stallions that are standing at fees several times Bluegrass Cat’s 2016 special pre-season fee.”
The stallion fees, in alphabetical order, are as follows:
Bluegrass Cat-$6,500 special pre-season fee.
Calimonco-$1,500.
Dixie Chatter-$3,000
Eddington-$3,500.
