ALBANY, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2022) – Favored multiple stakes winner Bettor Trip Nick, second in this race in 2020, went wire to wire to win Saturday’s $75,900 El Dorado Shooter Stakes for California-breds at Golden Gate.
Bettor Trip Nick is by Boat Trip, out of the In Excess mare Bettor Knot, was bred by Running Horse Equine Training Center, is owned by Gary Oetman and Ray Pagano and trained by Jonathan Wong.
He has seven wins in 17 starts, earnings of $271,630 and was coming off a Feb. 6 optional claiming win.
Bettor Trip Nick ran the six furlongs in 1:09.46 and won by three-quarters of a length as the 3-2 favorite in the field of eight. It was his third stakes win, all at Golden Gate.
Riding With Dino rallied for second and Psycho Dar was third.
