OZONE PARK, N.Y. (Dec. 31, 2014) — Big Business closed out a productive year with a flourish, winning Aqueduct’s $100,000 Alex M. Robb Stakes by a head for owner Gary Barber and trainer David Jacobson.
The victory was the first stakes win for the ultra consistent gelding by California stallion Eddington. Big Business has compiled a 10-3-5-1 record in 2014 which included a runner-up finish to Palace in the Grade I Forego and seconds in four other stakes at Belmont and Saratoga.
With earnings of $763,430, Big Business ranks second to Secret Circle (G1, $2,430,790) among Eddington’s leading money winners. Bred in New York by Henthorn Racing Inc., Big Business is the fourth foal and first winner produced from Spanish Guitar, a stakes-winning daughter of Birdonthewire.
