Big Sweep, Mucho Unusual in Solana Beach

DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 12, 2020) – Fleet Treat winner Big Sweep and Grade II winner Mucho Unusual are among the entries in Saturday’s $125,000 Solana Beach Stakes for fillies and mares at Del Mar.

Sedamar is by Richard’s Kid, out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Win Allison Win, was bred by Mick Ruis, is owned by Ruis Racing and trained by Shelbe Ruis. She has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $246,904 and is coming off a fourth in the July 12 Osunitas.

Cordiality is by Papa Clem, out of the Unusual Heat mare Warmth, was bred by Dr. Edward Allred, is owned by Donnie Crevier and trained by Tim Yakteen. She has 11 wins in 31 starts, earnings of $557,635 and is coming off a win in the July 12 Osunitas. She won this race in 2018.

Big Sweep is by Mr. Big, out of the City Zip mare Misszippityslewda, was bred by George Krikorian, is owned by Red Baron’s Barn or Rancho Temescal and trained by Mark Glatt. She has three wins in four starts, earnings of $212,250 and is coming off a win in the July 24 Fleet Treat.

Grade II winner Mucho Unusual is by Mucho Macho Man, out of the Unusual Heat mare Not Unusual, was bred by owner George Krikorian and trained by Tim Yakteen. She has four wins in 14 starts, earnings of $507,715 and is coming off an eighth in the July 11 Coolmore Jenny Wiley.

Pulpit Rider is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Ride the Rails mare Lady Railrider, was bred by owners Mr. & Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Mike Puype. She has five wins in 23 starts, earnings of $391,427 and is coming off a third in a July 10 optional claimer. She was sixth in this race last year.
