Blue Diva Rallies Late to Win Miss America

ALBANY, Calif. (Dec. 15, 2019) – California-bred longshot Blue Diva, claimed out of her winning last race for $25,000, paid immediate dividends by winning Sunday’s $50,000 Miss America Stakes for fillies and mares at Golden Gate with a late surge.

The 3-year-old filly is by Bluegrass Cat, out of the Quiet American mare Farmers Wife, was bred by BKB Stables, is owned by Frances Rainin and trained by Ari Herbertson.

She has six wins in 17 starts and earnings of $127,769. She won by three-quarters of a length at odds of 6-1 in the field of nine.
