Cal-bred Champions Entered for Saturday

ARCADIA, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2025) – A pair of 2024 California-bred champions take on open allowance company on Saturday’s Santa Anita card.

In the Air Tonight, champion Cal-bred 2-year-old female, is entered in the second race for 3-year-old fillies. She is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Sky Mesa mare Angel Allie, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Chacon, Flores or Lovingier and trained by Steve Knapp. She has two wins in seven starts, earnings of $161,900 and she won last year’s California Thoroughbred Breeders Association Stakes at Del Mar.

Shady Tiger, champion Cal-bred 3-year-old male, is entered in the sixth race. He is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Full Mandate mare Divine Legacy, was bred by owner Rusty Brown and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has four wins in six starts, earnings of $259,400 and won last year’s Snow Chief Stakes presented by City National Bank and the Echo Eddie Stakes, both at Santa Anita.
