DEL MAR, Calif. (Nov. 22, 2018) – California-breds Takeo Squared and Irish Heatwave are entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Grade III Cecil B. DeMille Stakes for 2-year-olds at Del Mar.
Takeo Squared is by Square Eddie, out of the Golden Missile mare Berengaria, was bred by EC Racing & Steve Rothblum, is owned by EC Racing, MyRacehorse.com or Egan et al and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in six starts, earnings of $72,625 and is coming off a fourth in the Oct. 8 Zuma Beach.
Irish Heatwave is by Unusual Heat, out of the Broken Vow mare Irish Winnie, was bred by Moger Racing & Neary Racing, is owned by Calumet Farm and trained by J.K. Desormeaux. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $39,200 and is coming off a Nov. 3 maiden win.
