DEL MAR, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2016) – Multiple stakes winner Gold Rush Dancer and Grade I-winning fellow California-bred Ralis are entered in Sunday’s $250,000 Grade II Del Mar Derby for 3-year-olds.
Gold Rush Dancer is by Private Gold, out of the In Excess mare Dances On Water, was bred by owner John Parker and is trained by Vann Belvoir. He has five wins in 12 starts, earnings of $379,923 and is coming off wins in three consecutive stakes.
Ralis is by Square Eddie, out of the Ten Most Wanted mare Silar Rules, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has two wins in 13 starts, earnings of $374,083 and is coming off an eighth in the July 9 Belmont Derby Invitational.
