LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2013) – A pair of California-breds were six-figure purchases at Thursday’s session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.
Starlight Magic, a 4-year-old filly by Marino Marini, out of the General Meeting mare Star’s Millennium, was consigned by Greenfield Farm, agent and purchased by Woodford Thoroughbreds for $130,000. The broodmare prospect won the Robert H. Walter California Cup Juvenile Fillies, Fleet Treat Stakes and $334,900.
Smooth Performer, an 8-year-old mare by Benchmark, out of the Bertrando mare Smooth Player, was consigned by Lane’s End, agent for Pam and Marty Wygod and purchased by Windways Farm for $120,000. The stakes winner of $247,900 is in foal to City Zip.
