Cal-bred Quartet in Alcatraz

ALBANY, Calif. (May 8, 2014) – Four of the five entrants in Sunday’s $75,000 Alcatraz Stakes for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate are California-breds.

 

Flagman is by The Good Life, out of the Tychonic mare Tychonics Mistress, was bred by Jose Naranjo, is owned by Joseph Shoneff and trained by Thomas Valenzuela. He has one win in eight starts, earnings of $45,504 and is coming off a fifth in an Apr. 26 starter’s allowance.

 

Latitudefortytwo is by Rockport Harbor, out of the Great Above mare Way Up, was bred by owner Thomas Bachman and is trained by Michael Larson. He is coming off a maiden win in his second start with earnings of $20,985.

 

G. G. Ryder is by Chhaya Dance, out of the Storm Boot mare Stormy Gigi, was bred by Eagle Oak Ranch, is owned by jerry Hollendorfer and George Todaro and is trained by Hollendorfer. He has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $86,230 and is coming off a win in an Apr. 12 optional claimer.

 

Pazmeifucan is by Peppered Cat, out of the Crowning Storm mare Crown This Lady, was bred by owner and trainer Alex Paszkeicz. He is coming off a maiden win in his seventh start with earnings of $43,370.
