Cal-bred Quartet in Golden Nugget

ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 5, 2014) – Four California-breds are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Golden Nugget Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Stalk the Wildcat is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Petionville mare Silent Stalk, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $23,280 and is coming off an Oct. 18 maiden win.

Cartoonist is by Comic Strip, out of the Devil On Ice mare Ivy Lane, was bred by owners Dr. and Mrs. William Gray and is trained by Greg James. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $21,630 and is coming off an Oct. 18 maiden win.

Lucky Forty Niner is by Lucky J. H., out of the Forty Niner mare Miner’s Gal, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Mary Jo Bright and trained by Wendell McDaniel. He has one win in nine starts, earnings of $39,810 and is coming off a seventh in an Oct. 24 optional claimer.

Son of a Royal is by Bertrando, out of the Gulch mare Royal Ravine, was bred by Peter Moehrke & Joe McDougall, is owned by MNM Thoroughbreds, Screaming Eagle Racing, M. Carlin and R. Radigan and is trained by Sergio Ledezma. He is a maiden making his second start with earnings of $4,056.
