CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 21, 2017) – Multiple stakes-placed Smokem and fellow California-breds Southern Warlord and Time for Cioppino are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Barretts Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-olds at Los Alamitos.
Southern Warlord is by Shackleford, out of the Walter Willy mare Miss Nicolie, was bred by owners Regan Wright & Don Gibb, and is trained by Scott Rollins. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $20,145 and is coming off a Sept. 14 maiden win.
Time for Cioppino is by Time to Get Even, out of the Forest Wildcat mare Clawpuccino, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovingier or Sherlock and is trained by Gary Sherlock. He is a maiden making his sixth start with earnings of $23,025.
Smokem is by Union Rags, out of the Smoke Glacken mare One Smokin’ Lady, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Bade Beng Racing, Flores or Lovingier and is trained by Gary Sherlock. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $74,000 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 1 I’m Smokin Stakes.
