Cal-bred Trio in Irish Day at Emerald Downs

AUBURN, Wash. (July 15, 2022) – California-breds Crystal Bandit, Mr. Mischief and Smoken Shadow are entered in $50,000 Irish Day Stakes for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Emerald Downs.

Crystal Bandit is by Curlin to Mischief, out of the Marino Marini mare Fullofcuteness, was bred by West 12 Ranch, is owned by Cameron McVay and trained by Shannon Simpson. The $1,000 purchase at the CTBA January Sale has one win in eight starts, earnings of $29,954 and is coming off a fifth in a June 12 optional claimer.

Mr. Mischief is by Curlin to Mischief, out of the Vronsky mare Khun Dots Varon, was bred by Bill Delia and Dr. Kim Kuhlmann and is owned by trainer Sergio Perez. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $19,425 and is coming off a fourth in a July 3 optional claimer.

Smoken Shadow is by shaman Ghost, out of the Smoke Glacken mare One Smokin’ Lady, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Kenneth or Vicki Jo Elison and trained by Debbie Peery. He has one win in five starts, earnings of $21,540 and is coming off a June 19 maiden win.
