Cal-bred Trio in Joseph T. Grace Stakes

ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 2, 2022) – A trio of California-bred stakes winner — Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Freeport Joe, streaking A Man’s Man and Jimmy Blue Jeans – are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Joseph T. Grace Stakes at Golden Gate.

Graded winner Freeport Joe is by English Channel, out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Winds of March, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Larry Odbert and trained by Gloria Haley. The $2,000 Northern California Yearling Sale graduate has eight wins in 20 starts, earnings of $282,064 and is coming off a win in a Sept. 30 allowance.

A Man’s Man is by Mucho Macho Man, out of the City Zip mare Longing, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Remmah Racing and trained by Jack Steiner. He has eight wins – including his last six starts — earnings of $224,866 and is coming off a win in the Oct. 16 Bull Dog Stakes.

Jimmy Blue Jeans is by James Street, out of the Marino Marini mare Blue Blizzard, was bred by Perry Bruno & John Gezon, is owned by Bruno, Gezon and Robert Jones and is trained by Andy Mathis. He has five wins in 14 starts, earnings of $260,048 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 5 Sam Spear Memorial.
