ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 27, 2016) – California-breds McHeat, Boozer and Jimmy Bouncer are entered in the second division of Friday’s $100,000 Grade III Eddie D. Stakes at Santa Anita.
McHeat is by Unusual Heat, out of the Half a Year mare Style of the Year and was bred by by Madeline Auerbach. He has three wins in 11 starts, earnings of $137,490 and is coming off a fourth in an Aug. 31 optional claimer.
Boozer is by Unusual Heat, out of the Cape Canaveral mare Kitty and Boo, was bred by Abrams, Loverso, Perez, Huston Racing and Auerbach, is owned by Al and Sandee Kirkwood and trained by Mark Glatt. He has seven wins in 26 starts, earnings of $582,096 and is coming off a fourth in an Aug. 20 optional claimer.
Jimmy Bouncer is an also-eligible by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $219,095 and is coming off a second in an Aug. 31 optional claimer. He was fourth in this race last year.
