Cal-breds Line Up in Oak Tree Sprint Stakes

PLEASANTON, Calif. (June 29, 2022) – Eight of the nine entrants in Saturday’s $75,000 Oak Tree Sprint Stakes at the Alameda County Fair are California-breds, including stakes winner Ultimate Bango.

Carolina Mia is a mare by Gallant Son, out of the Sought After mare Carolina Grande, was bred by Daehling Ranch, is owned by Ruben Arechiga and trained by Felix Rondan. She has four wins in 18 starts, earnings of $150,332 and is coming off a second in the June 11 Albany Stakes.

Darnquick is by Run Brother Ron, out of the Forest Camp mare Darncat, was bred by Clifford Plum, is owned by Casey Plum and trained by Efrain Miranda. He has six wins in 27 starts, earnings of $190,933 and in his last start stumbled and lost his jockey. He was third in this race last year.

Psycho Dar is by Storm Wolf, out of the Maria’s Mon mare Stormin Mon, was bred by Liberty Road Stables, is owned by Mary Tucker and trained by Samuel Calvario. He has eight wins in 35 starts, earnings of $376,736 and is coming off a third in the June 11 Albany Stakes.

Murphys Tiger is by Smiling Tiger, out of the You and I mare Youtheprizeandi, was bred by owner Jethorse and is trained by Tim McCanna. He has three wins in seven starts, earnings of $60,812 and is coming off a third in a May 20 allowance.

Cool Mountain Lad is by Unionize, out of the Stormin Fever mare Honeysuckle Rose, was bred by Francis O’Leary, is owned by Lordan, O’Leary or Powers and is trained by Victor Trujillo. He has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $136,154 and is coming off a second in a June 18 optional claimer.

Our Bold Prince is by Bold Chieftain, out of the Souvenir Copy mare Grasp, was bred by Dwaine Hall & Eduardo Rich, is owned by Charles Anderson, Eddie Rich or James Spicer and is trained by Rich. He has three wins in 29 starts, earnings of $117,972 and is coming off a fourth in a June 10 allowance.

Ultimate Bango is by Uh Oh Bango, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Ultimate Summer, was bred by Mitchell Dutko & Bob Abrams, is owned by Mary Tucker and trained by Samuel Calvario. He has six wins in 28 starts, earnings of $397,459 and is coming off a fifth in the June 11 Albany Stakes.

War Games is by Cyclotron, out of the One Man Army mare Myra G., was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Barbara DeLima and trained by Cliff DeLima. He has seven wins in 19 starts, earnings of $174,332 and is coming off a sixth in the June 11 Albany Stakes.
