Cal-breds Mining for Golden Nugget

ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2021) – A quartet of California-breds is entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Golden Nugget Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Northvale Road is by Grazen, out of the Tizdejavu mare Sunshine Woman, was bred by Gino Roncelli, is owned by Moger Inc., Burke, Estrada, Kropp or Tsujimoto, et al and is trained by Ed Moger Jr. The $10,000 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has one win in four starts, earnings of $31,740 and is coming off a fourth in the Aug. 8 Graduation Stakes.

Dr Pescado is by Fullbridled, out of the peppered Cat mare Sweetly Peppered, was bred by Juan Heredia and is owned by Ruben Arechiga or trainer Felix Rondan. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $20,418 and is coming off a fourth in a Sept. 24 optional claimer.

Highland Ghost is by Shaman Ghost, out of the Include mare Wee Highland Lass, was bred by owner Highland Yard and is trained by O.J. Juaregui. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $33,366 and is coming off a third in a Nov. 6 optional claimer.

Stanford Bay is by Stanford, out of the Ministers Wild Cat mare Curvy Cat, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jonathan Wong. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $48,350 and is coming off an Oct. 22 starter’s allowance win.
