LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 2, 2015) – Several horses with California-bred links sold for significant prices at Monday’s first session of the Keeneland Breeding Stock Sale.
Brushed by a Star, a 7-year-old mare by California stallion Eddington, sold for $700,000 to WinStar Farm. She is a multiple Grade II winner of $644,031 in foal to Speightstown.
A weanling son of Graydar, out of the Grade I-winning California-bred mare Dream of Summer, sold for $135,000 to Town & Country Farm.
Spanish Bunny — whose Cal-bred foal, Spanish Queen, won the Grade I American Oaks and sold Sunday for $500,000 – sold for $130,000 to Gainesway.
A Ghostzapper weanling colt out of the Cal-bred stakes winner Sugarinthemorning sold for $125,000 to Short Street Stable.
