Cal-breds Surround Robert Dupret Derby

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Aug. 7, 2024) – Multiple winners Right Hand Ryder and Keen Movin’ On are among the half dozen California-breds among entries in Saturday’s $75,000 Robert Dupret Derby for 3-year-olds at the Wine Country Meet at the Sonoma County Fair.

Elegant Boy is by Big Bad Leroybrown, out of the Trapper mare Trappers Magic, was bred by owner Hector Preciado and is trained by Sergio Perez. He is a maiden making his 10th start with earnings of $24,866.

Right Hand Ryder is by G. G. Ryder, out of the Bertrando mare Hand Tricks, was bred by owner Sergio Saiguero and is trained by Samuel Calvario. He has two wins in 12 starts, earnings of $35,488 and is coming off three consecutive second-place finishes in starter’s allowance races.

Baby Waylon is by Clubhouse Ride, out of the Snow Ridge mare Ju Ju Baby, was bred by owner Robert Traynor and is trained by D. Wayne Baker. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $47,250 and is making his first start since a maiden win Dec. 31.

Novinophobia is by Dialed In, out of the Street Sense mare Sensible Girl, was bred by C-Punch Ranch, is owned by Irvin Racing Stable and trained by Bill McLean. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $13,260 and is coming off a third in a July 28 starter’s allowance.

Keep Movin’ On is by Sir Prancealot, out of the Henny Hughes mare My Due Process, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Fairview and trained by Steven Specht. He has two wins in eight starts, earnings of $45,150 and is coming off a June 22 starter’s allowance win.

Bravo Ragazzo is by The Factor, out of the Sunday Break mare Sunday Geisha, was bred by DiPietro Thoroughbreds, is owned by Luigi DiPietro and trained by Blaine Wright. He is a maiden making his sixth start with earnings of $14,345.
