CYPRESS, Calif. (June 27, 2025) – California-bred stakes winners Chismosa and Pushiness are nominated to take on defending champion Sweet Azteca and Double Grade I winner Kopion in the July 5 $200,000 Grade II Great Lady M. Stakes at Los Alamitos.
Chismosa, a graded winner, is by Clubhouse Ride, out of the Cat Dreams mare You Can Dream, was bred by owner Jaime Renella and is trained by Rafael DeLeon. She has six wins in 24 starts, earnings of $600,250 and is coming off a second in the June 1 Desert Stormer. She was seventh in last year’s Great Lady M. and second in 2023.
Pushiness, a multiple stakes winner, is by Kantharos, out of the Empire Maker mare Imperial Pippin, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Repole Stable and trained by Michael McCarthy. She has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $308,426 and is coming off a second in an Apr. 18 optional claimer.
