CHRB Licensing Advisory

From CHRB

CYPRESS, Calif. (May 8, 2020) — The California Horse Racing Board is re-opening the Los Alamitos Race Course Licensing Office for renewal applications only. A protective shield has been installed at the Licensing Office to assist with mitigating the risk of COVID-19 for CHRB staff and the public we serve. Similar plans are in process at Golden Gate Fields, Santa Anita Park, and CHRB Headquarters in Sacramento. Updated advisories will be sent out as we re-open other locations.

In order to prevent introduction of new people to the contained backside of the track, new licenses will not be issued at this time. Exceptions to the suspension of issuing new licenses will be considered if the license is necessary for the health and safety of people and/or horses. All requests for exceptions shall be emailed to Shawn Loehr, Chief of Enforcement and Licensing (slloehr@chrb.ca.gov).

While the below CHRB Licensing Offices are still closed to the public, renewals may be done via email or mail. Call or email the respective Licensing Office for details:
