In compliance with authorities in Alameda, Los Angeles, and Sacramento Counties, all racing operations at Golden Gate Fields, Santa Anita Park, and Cal Expo have been temporarily halted during the COVID-19 health crisis. However, all counties are permitting the continued care, feeding, and training of horses under established guidelines for health and safety. None of the simulcast wagering outlets at county fairs, Indian casinos, card clubs, and other businesses in California are accepting wagers on any racing anywhere. All wagering by California residents on races being run throughout the world is being conducted remotely through telephone and internet wagering accounts. Furthermore, all CHRB licensing offices at racetracks are closed, and only personnel essential to the ongoing care for horses in training are currently working.
