SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2020) — The California Horse Racing Board conducted a meeting by teleconference on Monday, October 12. The public participated by dialing into the teleconference and/or listening through the audio webcast link on the CHRB website. Chairman Gregory Ferraro chaired the meeting, joined by Vice Chairman Oscar Gonzales and Commissioners Dennis Alfieri, Damascus Castellanos, Brenda Washington Davis, Wendy Mitchell, and Alex Solis.
The audio of this entire Board meeting is available on the CHRB Website (www.chrb.ca.gov) under the Webcast link.
The sole purpose of this meeting was to consider a change of location for the authorized horse sale of Fasig-Tipton, Inc., set for October 19. The Board had approved the sale for its intended location at Fairplex Park in Pomona. However, Los Angeles County health officials did not give their permission for the sale to occur in that location. Arrangements then were made by those involved to switch the location to Los Alamitos Race Course after the Orange County Health Department gave its approval. The change of location required Board action. The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the change.
