LEXINGTON, KY. (Feb. 4, 2015) — The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 will break from the gate in dramatic fashion Saturday with a two-hour telecast featuring four major stakes races from historic Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita Park, a Pick Four wager on those races, a betting challenge that will benefit equine charities and several feature stories on horses and people.
The telecast, which will air from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. EST on FOX Sports 1, will include the $500,000 Donn Handicap, the $500,000 San Antonio, the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap and the $200,000 San Marcos Stakes.
The San Antonio will feature 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner California Chrome and 2013 Eclipse Award winner Shared Belief as the two renew a rivalry that started in the controversial running of the Breeders’ Cup Classic last November 1.
America’s Best Racing has produced a promotional video for “The Rematch.”

The Donn Handicap field will include Lea, who won last year’s Donn; Constitution, the winner of the 2014 Florida Derby; and Commissioner, who was second in the 2014 Belmont Stakes.
In addition to the four races, viewers will also see features on Eclipse Award-winning apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke, a “week in the life” of California Chrome, and a tour of recently renovated Santa Anita Park.
For this and other select telecasts on The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 series, Tom Durkin, the longtime racecaller for the New York Racing Association Inc., Breeders’ Cup and Triple Crown races, will write and narrate an essay. Saturday’s commentary will focus on California Chrome and Shared Belief.
Greg Wolf, Richard Migliore, Andy Serling, Simon Bray and Alyssa Ali will once again handle the on-air duties.
The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1 is a joint production led by Brad Zager, vice president productions of FOX Sports, and Tim Turrell, the executive producer of The Jockey Club Tour on FOX Sports 1.
The tour will spotlight three charitable organizations: Autism Speaks, the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation.
America’s Best Racing has announced a strategic partnership with Autism Speaks and the on-air personalities will all be wearing Autism Speaks lapel pins.
The America’s Best Racing Betting Challenge returns this year and all wagering profits earned by Bray and Serling within the telecast will be donated to the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation and The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation.
Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation is traditionally the nation’s leading source of private funding for equine medical research that benefits all breeds of horses. The Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation is a charitable trust that provides financial relief and assistance to needy members of the Thoroughbred industry and their families.
The partnership between FOX Sports 1 and The Jockey Club is a multi-year agreement that was announced in August 2013. The agreement also includes international and Spanish-language rights, including the ability to air races on FOX Deportes, the nation’s leading Spanish-language sports network.
