FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2024) – Stakes winner Coalinga Road and fellow California-bred Shortman are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Bull Dog Stakes at Fresno.
Coalinga Road is by Quality Road, out of the Johannesburg mare Coco Ecolo, was bred by owner Harris Farms and is trained by Carla Gaines. He has four wins in 29 starts, earnings of $468,394 and is coming off a third in the Sept. 14 E.B. Johnston Stakes. He was second in this race in 2022.
Shortman is by Prince of Love, out of the Smarty Jones mare Shorty Jones, was bred by Sergio Zepeda, is owned by Zepeda Racing and trained by Genaro Vallejo. He has four wins in 34 starts, earnings of $210,682 and is coming off a fifth in the Sept. 14 E.B. Johnston.
